Infinite Potential: “It’s never too late to be what you might have been.” |
I just love this quote from George Eliot. As I am sure many of you know, George Eliot was in fact a woman born as Mary Ann Evans. She was an English novelist and one of the leading writers of the Victorian era. Although female authors were accepted and published during her lifetime, she wanted to escape the stereotype of women’s writing being limited to lighter fare and romances and to be taken more seriously. I was reminded of the quote a while back in an email from my Dad, as he likes to send encouraging thoughts to me, and I further thought of it after seeing the movie Barbie. And of course, it rings true for me currently as I move into the profession of coaching, something that I have always felt the knack for but am now committed to becoming the best that I can be. The quote “It’s never too late to be what you might have been” encapsulates a profound feeling of possibility. It conveys the idea that no matter our age or past choices, there is always potential for growth, transformation, and achieving what we have envisioned for ourselves. It serves as a reminder that the future remains open to new opportunities and self-discovery, inspiring us to pursue our dreams and aspirations regardless of previous limitations or setbacks. The quote evokes the idea of infinite potential, urging us to embrace change and take steps towards becoming the person we truly desire to be. It very much makes me think of Carol McFall, the inspiration behind this journey. Who do you want to become? The possibilities are endless.
